As stock investors (even though a small one), it is important to keep abreast with the latest financial and market news. Since I am in it, I thought it might be worthwhile to share it out with my readers too.

Hence, I started this "Market News In 2 Minutes" series.
 
Following are the "Market News In 2 Minutes" for today :
 
1. Q&M Dental Group (QC7) - Has sold Shanghai Meiya for a total consideration of RMB1.55 million ($310,000). Shanghai Meiya was acquired by the company in 2012 for a total consideration of RMB1.35 million ($270,000). (source : The Edge)

2. SMRT (S53) - Has placed a $100 million order for 372 buses made by German company MAN. Meanwhile, SMRT said it has submitted its proposal for a rail financing model to the government a month ago. (source : The Edge)

3. ST Engineering (S63) - Has bagged a $100 million contract from SMRT Buses to supply 40 MAN A24 articulated buses and 332 MAN A22 12-metre buses. The buses are expected to be delivered from 2H14 to end-2016. (Source : Shares Investment)

4. DeClout (5UZ) - Announced to acquire Verity Solutions for $3.5 million. Verity provides hardware maintenance and professional services offerings for enterprise data centres. Its customer base includes companies from the banking, insurance and telecommunication industries. (source : Shares Investment)

5. Sim Lian Group (S05) - Secured a contract from the HDB for proposed building works at Jurong West with a 36-month duration, worth $88 million. (source : Shares Investment)

6. Uni-Asia Holdings (C3T) - Has acquired a 69.6 percent-stake in United Wise Capital Investment. (source : Shares Investment)
