Last weekend, when I was at Kinokuniya bookstore at Takashimaya Orchard, I just grab a copy of the latest The Edge weekly as my market resource for the week, I am not a regular reader of The Edge but the headline of BIG INVESTORS SWOOP IN (news about strategic investors' interest on Goodpack, Q&M Dental Group and Singapore Post).
So, it sets me thinking, with the influx of online market news through news portals, blogs and forums (mostly free), how many more local physical financial/ investment magazines/weekly are left now? Also, are you still reading them now?
Off the top of my head, following are the two such magazines/weekly that came to my mind :
1. The Edge Singapore (Weekly):
2. Shares Investment (Fortnightly):
Of course, these two publications do have their corresponding online portals (came with blog posts, breaking news and forums etc..) to complement their physical products. Personally, I will still read The Edge (physical magazine) occasionally but would give Shares Investment a miss as two weeks is long time to wait when comes to investment.
Do you know any other such local publications that still surviving?
Cheers!
I subscribe to The Edge. Unfortunately, they don't do much of deeper analysis in terms of dividend-growth or value investment approach. Still, news are fairly current and coverage is reasonably good.
ReplyDeleteI find Shares too pricey given the few articles it provide. As for the financial data, much of it are similarly available online from POEMS.
Missed some of those magazines from years back - Q, Fundsupermart. One by one, they went away.

Hi Lizardo, Ya man, there are fewer and fewer financial magazines nowadays. Now that you mentioned, I do recall the Q and Fundsupermart now.
DeleteBy the way, you have a cool blog and I like your sharing of Soup Restaurant...never thought of linking the discount card for shareholder ;-)
Hi Richard,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments. Welcome feedback on my blog.
Discovering the Soup restaurant discount card was rather serendipitous. But seems like a wonderful idea! The discount is like another dividend. Wish there were more of such.
