As stock investors (even though a small one), it is important to keep abreast with the latest financial and market news. Since I am in it, I thought it might be worthwhile to share it out with my readers too.

Hence, I started this "Market News In 2 Minutes" series.
 
Following are the "Market News In 2 Minutes" for today :
 
1. The Land Transport Authority of Singapore (LTA), SMRT Corporation (SMRT), StarHub and IBM today announced a collaboration to apply fusion analytics to create a public transport system that will help improve the commuter experience across Singapore. 2. Swiber Holdings (AK3) - The support services provider to the offshore oil and gas industry, has clinched an Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Construction (EPIC) contract in Latin America for subsea development work including pipeline tie-in work, with an aggregate value of US$80 million ($100 million). The project will commence immediately and is expected to complete in 2015. (source : The Edge)

3. Singapore Airlines (C6L) - Is extending its reach into the United States through an expanded codeshare agreements with Star Alliance partner Asiana Airlines. The Asiana arrangement sees Singapore Airlines codesharing on Asiana flights between Seoul’s Incheon Airport and Honolulu, Seattle and Los Angeles. (source : The Edge)

4. Sembcorp Marine (S51) - Has agreed to acquire a 12% stake in GraviFloat AS for US$4 million ($5 million), with a right to increase its stake up to 20% by further equity injection. GraviFloat was formed to design, deliver and operate re-deployable, gravity-based, modularised LNG and LPG Terminals for installation in shallow waters. (source : The Edge)

5. Kim Heng Offshore and Marine (5G2) – Kim Heng is exploring some merger and acquisition deals to expand its business, with a focus to grow its supply-chain services to the offshore sector.  (source : Shares Investment)
