Market News In 2 Minutes @ 9th June 2014

Market News in 2 minutes

As stock investors (even though a small one), it is important to keep abreast with the latest financial and market news. Since I am in it, I thought it might be worthwhile to share it out with my readers too.

Hence, I started this "Market News In 2 Minutes" series.

Following are the "Market News In 2 Minutes" for today :

1. CapitaLand (C31) - Said on Sunday that its stake in CapitaMalls Asia (CMA) has now passed the threshold required for it to compulsorily acquire all remaining CMA shares it does not own. As at 5pm on Friday, June 6, CapitaLand and its concert parties owned, controlled, controlled or have agreed to acquire about 97.1% of CMA's issued capital. (source : The Edge)

2. Popular Holdings (P29) - Is planning to set up English learning centres in China to teach English to the young in a fun and interesting manner. (source : The Edge)

3. Thai Beverage (Y92) – Its Chairman is seen by others to be risking piling on more debt on an empire still digesting its big acquisition (Fraser & Neave), when he is now seeking to increase his exposure down under with an offer to buy Australand. His bet of US$2.4 million is also five percent above the takeover value estimated by analysts at Credit Suisse. (source : Shares Investment)

Cheers!
