I Have Finally Sold My Maiden Stock (Straco Corp)

In the early July, I've written a post about considering selling my maiden stock (Straco Corp) at $0.77 but failed (you can read my earlier post here). Today, I've decided to attempt to release it again at $0.79 and it went through within 5 minutes.;-)

I bought the stock about 4 months ago at $0.58 and happy to release it with slightly more than 30% profit (which has exceeded my profit target). Of course, since I am a very small investor, my earning could be smaller than some of the peers' transaction fee/commission but it still enough to put a smile on my face! ;-)

Just to borrow a phrase used by one of my friend, in Chinese "You Juan Jiu Hao" (got earn, good enough liao).

Cheers!

P/S: Straco will release its second quarter result on 12th August 2014 (Tue), all the best to the company and existing share holders. I WILL BE BACK at a right price, at the right time later, hopefully ;-)

  1. Congrats! Usually I would prefer newbies to lose some money first before gaining, but nah, I won't be a sour sop :)

    1. Hi Butterfly, hahaha.... I know what you meant (many gurus also told me so)... anyway, I am just small player and don't commit much money into it. So, I should be fine ;-)

    2. I guess there is always two side of the story, do or don't do also got possibility of remorse. Besides, I am not Warren Buffet, so I will learn different mistakes along the way, I guess. And you might be right, this could be one of it ;-)

  3. If it is a truly good business, you should be targeting a much longer holding period and a much higher gain. Good businesses are tough to find with a decent margin of safety, and the problem with selling is that you need to figure out where to deploy your capital next. With valuations on the rise across the board, this task just gets tougher and tougher.

  4. Hi richard,

Interesting to know as you are the few I know to divest straco. I divested it myself as I have a contrarian opinion on straco. I felt the margin of safety had diminished and I did mot feel the same about the aquarium business as "bao zuan".

    1. Hi Raymond, I guess since durian also won't "bao jiak", let alone stocks. Anyway, I am not greedy (maybe its wrong attitude to win big in stock) so I am happy with my result. The stock is keep heading to the north after my selling but no one can predict the future, I guess! ;-)
