As stock investors (even though a small one), it is important to keep abreast with the latest financial and market news. Since I am in it, I thought it might be worthwhile to share it out with my readers too.

1. Keppel Offshore & Marine’s wholly owned subsidiaries Keppel Shipyard and Keppel Singmarine have secured contracts worth a total of $368 million. For more details, click here(source : The Edge)

2. Frasers Centrepoint (TQ5) - Will pursue its offer to buy Australand Property Group for about A$2.6 billion ($3 billion) in the Singapore real estate company’s biggest proposed acquisition after trumping a bid by Stockland. For more details, click here. (source : The Edge)

3. ISDN Holdings (I07) - The integrated engineering solutions provider for diverse industries, says construction of its maiden mini-hydropower plant in Indonesia has started. For more details, click here. (source : The Edge)

4. BBR Holdings (KJ5) - Announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Singapore Piling & Civil Engineering Private Limited, has won a $196 million contract for the construction of the new hall of residence for Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The new win adds a strong boost to BBR’s order book which stands at $820 million as at 31 March 2014. (source : The Edge)

5. Global Yellow Pages (Y07) - Says the proposed acquisition of global property rights of Gloria Jean's coffee chain business for A$35.6 million ($40.7 million) are still resolving some issues related to the acquisition but the deal is expected to be completed. (source : The Edge)

6. DeClout (5UZ) - Agreed to acquire Asia Wiring Systems for a purchase consideration of $11.5 million. The target company is a one-stop solutions provider that provides value-added services as well as various products to data centres and building owners. 7. LionGold Corporation (A78) - Proposed to acquire the rights, title and interest in the Hargraves Gold and Boiga Gold projects for a purchase consideration not exceeding A$12 million. (source : Shares Investment)

8. Nam Cheong (N4E) - Has sold an additional four vessels with a total value worth approximately US$92 million ($115 million).With the new contracts, the company’s order book stands at approximately RM1.7 billion. (source : Shares Investment)
