As stock investors (even though a small one), it is important to keep abreast with the latest financial and market news. Since I am in it, I thought it might be worthwhile to share it out with my readers too.

Hence, I started this "Market News In 2 Minutes" series.
Following are the "Market News In 2 Minutes" for today :
1. Keppel Shipyard, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine, said that the contract which entered into with Golar Hilli Corporation, a subsidiary of Golar LNG Ltd, to perform the world’s first conversion of an existing Moss LNG carrier, the Hilli, into a Floating Liquefaction Vessel (FLNGV), has become effective. 2. Metro Holdings (M01) - Is acquiring a 25% stake in two land sites in Manchester, United Kingdom for 5.7 million pounds ($12.2 million) in cash. The purchase was made through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sun Capital Assets. For the full report, click here. (source : The Edge)

3. ValueMax Group (T6I) - Proposed to acquire Tai Eng Pawnbroker for a purchase consideration of $4.5 million. The value of the consideration includes the value of Tai Eng’s loan book, inventory and the market value of its shop house. The move will provide an additional stream of revenue to the company as well as being aligned with the company’s expansion strategy. (source : Shares Investment)

4. Golden Agri-Resources (E5H) - Proposed the collaboration with Louis Dreyfus Armateurs Group (LDA) through a 50:50 equity participation in Orchard Maritime Services (OMS), a subsidiary of LDA. The joint ownership of OMS will create a reliable and efficient maritime transportation network in Indonesia. (source : Shares Investment)

5. InnoTek (M14) - Proposed to dispose of 15 million units of Sabana Real Estate Investment Trust (Sabana REIT) in which the company has purchased at $1.05 per unit during the trust’s initial public offering. The disposal is expected to take place over a period of time, where proceeds generated will be re-invested into dividend stocks, bonds and different sectors of REITs. (source : Shares Investment)
