As stock investors (even though a small one), it is important to keep abreast with the latest financial and market news. Since I am in it, I thought it might be worthwhile to share it out with my readers too.

Hence, I started this "Market News In 2 Minutes" series.
Following are the "Market News In 2 Minutes" for today :
1. Japfa - The agri-food maker is set to raise $198 million after pricing its Singapore initial public offering at the top of the $0.78-$0.80 range, IFR reported on Thursday.  The listing is targeted for August 15. (source : The Edge)

2. Singapore Airlines (C6L) - Has welcomed the New Zealand Minister of Transport’s approval of its proposed alliance with Air New Zealand. (source : The Edge)

3. Charisma Energy (5QT) - Says it has partnered with the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA) to secure a seven-year charter contract worth US$276 million ($345 million). (source : The Edge)
4. Chiway International (ACW) - The Shanghai-based property developer Chiway International has entered into a 50-50 joint venture with Property Solutions to jointly develop three property development projects in Brisbane, Australia. (source : The Edge)

5. United Engineers (U04) - Is divesting the assets and liabilities of MFS Technology, its subsidiary that deals with the manufacturing of circuit boards and precision parts. The company will be divesting MFS to Navis Capital for $124 million. (source : The Edge)
