Market News in 2 minutesTomorrow is Deepavali and Public Holiday in a number of Asian countries (Singapore included), wish all a great holiday ahead of you!

As stock investors (even though a small one), it is important to keep abreast with the latest financial and market news. Since I am in it, I thought it might be worthwhile to share it out with my readers too.

Hence, I started this "Market News In 2 Minutes" series.

Following are the "Market News In 2 Minutes" for today :

1. CapitaMall Trust (C38U) - Its net property income came in 3.3 percent higher at $114.1 million for the three months ended 30 September following the completion of asset enhancement initiatives at Bugis Junction as well as positive rental reversions. In absence of a premium paid on the redemption of convertible bonds a year earlier, the amount available for distribution to unitholders grew 16.1 percent to $99.8 million. The trust declared a distribution of $0.0272 per unit, up 6.3 percent. (source : Shares Investment)

2. First REIT (AW9U) - Its net property income grew 7.9 percent to $23.5 million for the quarter ended 30 September, driven by a full quarter contribution from Siloam Hospitals Purwakarta. Coupled with a positive foreign exchange adjustment, the amount available for distribution to unitholders improved 6.1 percent to $14.7 million. The trust declared a distribution per unit of $0.0202 for the quarter, up 3.1 percent. (source : Shares Investment)

3. Geo Energy Resources (RE4) - Has inked a cooperation agreement with PT Bandar Laut Biru to manage and operate a port terminal, located in South Kalimantan, Indonesia, for 15 years. The move allows the company to expand downstream in the coal mining value chain and provide an additional revenue stream. (source : Shares Investment)

4. Sembcorp Marine (S51) - Its subsidiaries have secured two offshore energy related contracts worth $222 million. The first contract involves the designing and building of an offshore substation platform for the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm while the second contract requires the repair and life extension, and conversion of a very large crude carrier into a floating production storage and offloading vessel. 5. Spackman Entertainment Group (40E) - Has agreed to acquire a 46.4 percent stake in Breakfastfilm Co for KRW1.3 billion ($1.6 million). The latter is a leading marketing and media company that specialises in the production of TV/new media commercials and music videos in Korea. (source : Shares Investment)

6. Vallianz (545) - Clinched letters of award and new charter contracts, worth US$64 million, to supply AHTS vessels, platform supply vessels and barges for a period of up to three years in Mexico, West Africa and the Asia Pacific region. (source : Shares Investment)
