One Down (Lippo Mall), One More To Go

As per my earlier post (click here to see more), one of the thing that I've determined to do in the month of September is to nibble on Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust (of which I have been monitoring for quite a while).

Finally! I got it at $0.31 yesterday!

With this price and assuming the DPU distribution stays, I am looking at around 8 - 9% of dividend yield. I've written about Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust's CNAV Analysis and 5 Years History but nothing beats getting it at the lower than expected price ;-)

By now I believed you folks would have already known that the other thing that I determined to do is to watch the upcoming blockbuster movie, EVEREST!

Are you vested in Lippo Malls? What is your view?

Cheers!

  1. Hi Richard

I knew nut about Lippo. However, i hearsay too many negative about it being diluted, management giving nonsense options, etc. 8-9% is great!

    1. Hi CW

If you are still reading this reply. I Don't really follow Lippo but hearsay from my ex-colleague who invested mentioned Lippo have issued 2 rights issue when the issue prices are adjusted a few time lower than the market prices. It significantly diluted the existing owners and spiralled down the share prices by a lot in days. I found one older news, not sure whether it is such : http://www.reitsweek.com/2013/11/lippo-malls-indonesia-reit-falls-465.html

If I took a quick look at the chart, I would find something fishy as it has dropped significantly over the past few years. I suspect it is because of dilution.

    2. Right issues are part of REITs and Biz Trusts business model. Hard to run away.

  3. Hi Richard!

Lippo malls caught my eye due to its high yield, but I'm generally wary of REITs/Trusts who derive their earnings from non-SG properties e.g. Saizen, Accordia Golf Trust and of course Lippo Malls.

What made you target Lippo Malls specifically?

    1. Turtle Investor : The main draw is the dividend yield and Lippo Malls has been trading below my CNAV assessment ;-)
